About Me

Printmaking Experience

I am a Norwich based printmaker and Fine Art graduate from Norwich University of the Arts, 2010 and recently completed a Master of Arts in Printmaking at  Anglia Ruskin University, 2017 – 2019.

I run intaglio (etching, drypoint, collagraph) and relief (lino cut) printmaking courses at Print to the People in Norwich, a not-for-profit organisation that offers a range of short courses through out the year and the facilities to continue developing your own practice. I also run open access sessions as a technician working with new and established artists.  http://www.printtothepeople.com/home

I am an experienced printmaking tutor, having taught for adult education in Norwich for 5 years (2013 -2018) and at Print to the People since 2015. I now teach on the level 4 Foundation Art Diploma at City College Norwich and lately have become an associate lecturer on the BA Fine Art at Anglia Ruskin University.

My Practice

Using film photography and traditional printmaking processes as a way of recording observations, my practice forms a response to the changing urban landscape of Norwich and, more widely, the impact of screen based media and instant imagery.

Film photography forces me to be more decisive about creating images to work with and my position behind the lens enhances the memory and experience of being in physical spaces. The medium of etching is used to layer drawings and textures, based on my photographs, and my aim is to engage the viewer with the language and aesthetic of original printmaking.
